You can connect to the system using an ssh client, for example:
user@laptop:~$ ssh username@nux.sk1

The following features and notable tools (among other standard ones) are currently availible:
* 100 GB /home partition (shared among users)
* 1 GB memory (shared among users)
* gcc - The GNU C compiler
* vim - Text editor
* screen - Handy terminal multiplexor
* ircii - IRC client
* mutt, pine - Mail clients (Email sending works only among “bugtown” system users at the moment.)
* mc - Midnight Commander, text mode full-screen file manager
* make - A program that determines which pieces of a large program need to be recompiled and issues the commands to recompile them, when necessary
* g++ - The GNU C++ compiler

You can find features I plan to add here.

{i} To access the server you need to have an account created on the system. If you would like to have one, send an e-mail to jose@nux.sk with subject “NuxShell - shell access request” and your preferred login name (user name) in the body of the mail.

SUBNet is a network made up of a handful of linux servers. All users are allowed to IRC on any network. Currently there is only ONE ip per box. Yes, only one. However more ip’s will be added at some point. All users are basically allowed to run whatever they want so long as it does not negatively affect any network including this one. At this time there are only TWO servers running. One which is completely dedicated and the other that is periodically down from time to time.

I started this freebsd free shell server to help myself as well as others to learn. So far it has been a great experience and I am proud of the server. To tell you a little about the actual server, it’s running freebsd 6.3 with 610 mhz and 115 MB of ram and 222 of swap. Not the best machine but so far it has been able to run what its been called for. The rules can be read here if you want an account. Pulpie is a community as well as a server in which thrives on users which want to learn, teach or setup projects. If you want to run an psybnc please try some place else.
